A note on accuracy, intent, and the magnificent futility of certainty.
Slop-Eds.com is a work of satire, produced for comedic and entertainment purposes only. Nothing published here constitutes factual reporting, legal determination, or verified proof that any named author did or did not use artificial intelligence to produce their work.
The designation of any article as a slop-ed reflects the subjective opinion of community members and is made in the same spirit — and with roughly the same accuracy — as the AI-detection tools currently deployed by the very publications those articles appeared in. We mean well. We are trying our best. We will, on occasion, be wrong. This puts us in good company.
All submissions are assessed by human beings. Human beings are fallible. We are not scientists, adjudicators, or a court of law. We are people on the internet who have noticed that the phrase delve into appears with statistically improbable frequency in op-eds attributed to senior vice presidents, and we have chosen to do something about it.
This site intends no harm to any individual, publication, or large language model. Nominations are submitted by community members and do not represent the views of Slop-Eds.com as a publication in any formal sense, to the extent that a satirical website constitutes a publication.
If you believe your work has been incorrectly categorised, we would gently suggest that the most compelling rebuttal is a follow-up article that does not open with a rhetorical question, contain three subheadings of graduated urgency, or close by gesturing toward hope without recommending any specific action.
Satire is a protected form of expression under UK law, including under the Defamation Act 2013. The content on this site is clearly framed as opinion and community commentary, not as factual assertion. We do not assert as fact that any specific individual used AI to write any specific piece; we present community nominations alongside community reasoning, in a format that a reasonable person would recognise as satirical.
We reserve the right to remove any submission that we consider crosses the line from satire into defamation, harassment, or targeted personal attack. If you have a concern about a specific submission, contact us at hello@slop-eds.com.
Article excerpts and titles referenced on this site are reproduced for the purposes of commentary and criticism, which is permitted under the fair dealing provisions of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. We do not reproduce articles in full. We link to original sources where possible.
Slop-Eds.com accepts no liability for the accuracy of community submissions, for any consequences arising from the publication of satire, or for whatever happens to one's professional reputation following a nomination that turns out to be entirely deserved.
